PCA Varsity Baseball - Final Four and State Game Information

Final Four Game: Monday, May 13, 10:00 a.m., at Waco ISD Field 1 vs Liberty Christian School

Located at the corner of New Road and Bagby Avenue, our address is 1401 S. New Road, Waco, Texas 76711. They are approximately one-half mile from IH 35. When traveling to the complex, use the New Road exit from IH 35 or the Bagby Avenue exit from Loop 340 (Highway 6).

State Final Game: Tuesday, May 14, 10:00 a.m. at University Mary Hardin Baylor, Belton
The winner of the PCA vs Liberty Christian School will play the winner of Houston St. Thomas vs. Houston St. Pius X.

I-35 Traveling South:
From Interstate 35, take the Hwy 190 exit heading west toward Killeen.
Take the Loop 121 exit and head North toward Belton.
Continue through the stoplight at FM 93/Nolan Valley Road.
Make a left onto the Loop 121 feeder road when you see the sign for UMHB on your right; before you travel over the bridge. Make a right onto Crusader Way at the stop sign.
The CRU Sports Plex will be on your right.

PCA ANNOUNCES THREE KEY COACHING ADDITIONS

Prestonwood is excited to announce that Sherry Ollison will return to Prestonwood as the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Chris Lovell will return to Prestonwood as the Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach and Tony Ollison will join the Prestonwood Staff as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. NATIONAL SIGNING DAY

National Signing Day will take place on April 17 at 2:45 in the Horner Training Center.  Make plans to attend!

CHRIS MAYBERRY RESIGNS AS BOY'S BASKETBALL COACH

Coach Chris Mayberry has resigned as the boy's head basketball coach.  Coach Mayberry has accepted a position in Florida as a middle school principal and basketball coach.  The Mayberry's will be living closer to family in their move.  We apprecaiate the time Coach Mayberry has dedicated to our basketball program investing in the lives of our young men!  Applications will be accepted through our human resources office.

STEVE MURRAY RESIGNS AS GIRL'S BASKETBALL COACH

Coach Steve Murray has resigned as the girl's head basketball coach.  We appreciate the time Coach Murray has dedicated to our basketball program investing in the lives of our young ladies!  Coach Murray took the Lady Lions to the program's first Final Four appearance this year!  Applications will be accepted through our human resources office.

SPRING SPORTS SENIOR NIGHT - Make plans to attend Spring Sports Senior night, which will be Thursday, April 18, at approximately 6:45 PM on Graham Field.  

DAY OF CHAMPIONS AND SPRING FOOTBALL MEETING - This will be held on Wednesday, April 24.

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS NIGHT SET FOR APRIL 29 - Please note this information regarding athletic paperwork.  Our policy changed this past year regarding our PCA and TAPPS paperwork.  All physicals MUST be dated by the physician between the months of April-August 2013 to participate in any athletics for the 2013-14 school years (transfer students in the middle of the year may be an exception).  All 7th-12-th grade students will be asked to complete the Athletic Forms Checklist for Back-to-School Day in order to receive your schedule.  This will enable the athletic office to keep up with our TAPPS regulations. To get a list of required forms, visit this website:  http://www.prestonwoodchristian.org/page.cfm?p=345.  If you are new to PCA and entering 10-12th grade, you must complete the TAPPS Transfer Form that needs to be signed by your previous school and approved by our District before your first competition.

Letter Jacket Ordering DATE CHANGED!!!

On Monday, March 20, students can order letter jackets in the Horner pre-function area from 12:30-1:45 PM! (posted on 3/18/13)

Boys and Girls Basektball Final Four Information

The girls and boys basketball teams both advanced to the TAPPS State Final Four!  The schedule is as follows:

The girls will play JP II at Tiberview High School on Friday, March 1, at 4:30 PM.  If they win that game, they will play the winner of Houston St. Agnes and Liberty Christian at Legacy High School, on Saturday, March 2, at 4:00 PM.  

The boys will play JP II at Timberview High School on Friday, March 1, at 7:30 PM.  If they win that game, they will play the winner of Nolan Catholic and Libery Christian at Legacy High School, on Saturday, March 2, at 6:00 PM.

Cheer Parent Meeting

On Thursday, February 21, 2013, there will be a cheer parent meeting.  The Spirit Cheer parent meeting will be held at 7:00 PM in the SLC and the Competition Cheer parent meeting will be held at 8:00 PM in the SLC.  Please make plans to attend! (posted on 2/19/13)

Spirit Cheer Try-Outs Begin

On Monday, March 18, 2013, our Spirit Cheer try-outs begin for current 6th-11th grade girls. These will be held in the FH and the SLC from 3:00-5:30.  Make plans to be there! (posted 2/19/13)

Upper School Spring Sports Pictures

On Wednesday, January 23, all Upper School Spring Sports will be having their team pictures made!  The golf teams will be at 2:30 at Lion's Stadium, the track teams wil be at 2:50 at Lion's Stadium, the baseball teams will be at 3:15 on Graham Field, the softball team will be at 4:15 on Lady Lion's Field and the tennis teams will be at 5:00 at Carrollton Oak Creek Courts!  Please be in attendance on this day!

Important Track Meetings 

There will be a student informational meeting and sign up at 3:45 pm on Monday, January 14, ****MEETING DATE CHANGED FROM ORIGINAL DATE*** in the FH weight room for US students wanting to participate in track.

There will be a parent informational meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 22 in FH 204 for all MS and US parents whose students are participating in track.  

Upper School Baseball Try-Outs

Try-outs for Upper School Baseball will held on Wednesday, December 12 at 2:30 PM.  The try-outs will take place on Graham Field.  Mark your calendars now!

Middle School Baseball and Softball Try-Outs

Try-outs for Middle School Baseball and Softball will be held on Wednesday, November 28, from 3:30-5:00 and on Wednesday, December 5, from 3:30-5:00.  The baseball try-outs will take place on Graham Field, and the softball try-outs will take place on the Lady Lions Field.  

Tennis

All 9^th – 12^th Students interested in joining the PCA Tennis team need to meet Coach Donna Smith in the Lobby of the Field House immediately after school on Friday to sign up and pick up some important information. If can’t stop by on Friday, please contact Coach Smith directly atdonnasmithtennis@sbcglobal.net

Middle School and Upper School Boy's Basketball Parent Meeting 

There will be a MS and US boy's basketball meeting on Tuesday, Oct 30 at 5:30 pm in the US library.

Upper School Boy's Soccer Parent Meeting

There will be an US boy's soccer parent meeting on Monday, Oct 29 at 6:00 pm in the US library.  

Middle School Boy's Soccer Parent Meeting

There will be a MS boy's soccer parent meeting on Monday, Oct 29 at 5:30 pm in the US library. 

Middle School Boy's and Girl's Soccer Try-outs

There will be MS boys and girls soccer try-outs on Monday, Oct 29, and Tuesday, Oct 30 from 2:30-4 pm.  Please mark your calendars!

Letter Jacket Fitting

There will be a letter jacket fitting for US athletes involved in a PCA varsity sport on October 29, from 12:30-1:45, in the Horner Pre-Function area.  

Upper School Girl's Soccer Parent Meeting

There will be a parent meeting for upper school girl's soccer on Monday, October 22, at 7 pm in Room 119 of the Upper School.  Please make plans to attend!

Middle School Boy's and Girl's Basketball Try-outs

Middle school boy's and girl's basketball try-outs will be held on Friday, October 26th and Monday, October 29th from 2:45-4:00 PM.  The boy's try-outs will be held in the PBC Sports and Fitness Center.  The girl's try-outs will be held in the PBC Sports and Fitness Center on Friday and the Field House on Monday and Tuesday.  Please mark your calendars!

Lions Den Club Membership

Calling all Lions fans!  We want the Lion Nation to band together and join the 2012-13 Lions Den Club!  We are blessed at PCA to have outstanding student-athletes, coaches, facilities, and fans, and by joining the Lions Den Club you'll help to continue the tradition of excellence that we know at Prestonwood Christian Academy.  Your Lions Den Club Membership helps fund resources for our players and coaches, helps to engage the PCA community, and helps to expand recognition of PCA Athletics throughout our community.

Athletic Physicals

We have a new process for completing the Athletic Physicals. 

• Please note that your physical must be dated between April 1 and August 20, 2012. 
• All Athletic paperwork should be turned in at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year, so please click here to download the forms you’ll need to complete the physical and paperwork process necessary to participate in PCA Athletics.
